That is a massive amount of NES games you got there Johnson, is that a guitar amp on the ground in the bottom right side? the NES carts aren't the most shielded units I'd definitely be careful to move that slightly away from them. Fairly cool way to get into collecting them I guess when people were selling them off cheap or in collections, but if you have 800 titles and they come from packs like that are some of those not unique then? I'm not sure I follow what you mean and the pic is a touch on the low res side to see the lovely side label'y goodness of them. Never really got the reproduction cart stuff myself, for the games I don't have (or are balls hard to the point of nearly being unplayable) I tend to go for the pspgo under my tv option, I know it isn't original hardware and whatnot but when it comes to sitting back on the couch with the dualshock 3 synced to the pspgo I really am drawn to the convience option over the love of having square pointy edges in my hands. Awesome to hear that those games are not just part of a dusty collection tho and you actually break out the NES/SNES for multiplayer use with mates, you should probably invest in a low power electric fence along the bottoms of your shelves btw! just enough to zap the lil man, not injure or scar him! He'll learn before that is needed... or drain the power. |
Yeah my camera on my phone sucks, I can't get a great picture and fit it all in.
All the carts are unique but I do have probably 100 or so doubles most are put at the bottom of my snes shelf and in milk crates. Getting games in groups like that wasn't the only way but i definitly got a lot like that.Whenever i got doublees I would then trade them or sell them and buy ones i didn't have. One time, I was lucky and my friend worked at a video store that was closing down and she told me that they still rented NES games in 2000 so i went in and asked the owner what kind of deal i could get if I bought in bulk, I said i had $132 so he said $4 a cart so i bought as much as i could then ( and he gave me an extra 5 games for free).
I also used to send out a list of missing carts to people for my birthday probably got 15 from that over the years. After my collection was really going and i got a room started a number of friends donated there old video games to me (nes snes n64) since a lot of them would come over to play games and that way they didn't have to still connect so many consoles at their house.
Yeah I keep telling my wife everytime my kid wrecks things or tries to, he is destroying his inheritence. He hasn't done too much damage but he did destroy a couple semi rare boxes once. all my boxes are now packed away now.
