As many of you know, Five Nights at Freddy's got a spin off title a few days ago called FNaF World. it looked interesting, and the gameplay could certainly make for a fun RPG game if thats your thing. im not here to judge.  i actually considered buying it. im not the biggest fan of the series, but the lore is fun to explore, and i thought the game could actually be fun.

the thing is, Scott mentioned when he pulled the game from steam that he agreed with his fans that it was released too early. FNaF games do have a history of being released long before their intended release date, but they did feel polished with basically no bugs. nearly everyone thought that FNaF World looked completely terrible though, like the sprites were poorly compressed and slapped right onto the game. so the game was pulled from steam, you can even check to see that its not there anymore, and Scott said he would rerelease for free when he polished it up.

people were complaining when he did this saying things like "the game should have just not come out", "he is a terrible dev for doing this", and "idk why he wastes his time on these games". i have to say this. he openly admitted he was wrong to release the game so early and immediately got to work on fixing it. hes also making sure anyone who asks gets a full refund. any other dev team would tell you to piss off and some would not give a damn since they already got your money for it. (im looking at you, arkham) so why is he being belittled for this? i think this should be something all devs do. if your game is broken or released unfinished, you have to make it free if everyone agrees. think of how many unpolished, unfinished games get released nowadays, and think of how much that would scare devs into actually making quality games again. discuss
