Mostly because of other people. I live in the southeastern United States, near the coast, and we often get heavy thunderstorms that put out a great deal of water for short periods. Driving in traffic during one can be pretty stressful. I once did a hydroplane 180 into the ditch because a person ahead of me was going like 2 mph on the interstate. I was only driving 50 mph but I had to hit the brakes and that was that.
