To add to this, the color coding of the ending is all wrong.  The control option is in paragon blue, when it has been a renegade choice throughout the rest of the game.  Anderson, who is like literally the paragon throughout the game, is portrayed in renegade red.

The only way this makes sense is from the reaper's perspective, which to me lend credence to the indoctrination theory.  That's clearly where they were headed, but then they made a sharp turn at the last moment...

I disagree on the Indoctrination Theory. It was never their intention. Fans, that actually followed the lore of the series, constructed the Indoctrination Theory to cope with the terrible writing Bioware saddled ME3 with in it's conclusion. Casey Hudson and Mack Walters had never shown themselves to be clever enough to construct such an ending.

Well, like I was saying earlier, I don't really try to analyze the authors, just the text itself.  I think the game shows a lot of evidence for the indoctrination theory.  Whether this was intentional or not, it seems like a fairly valid interpretation.

When you look at the most universally praised parts of ME3 from a narrative stand point, Rannoch and Tuchanka, Hudson and Walters weren't the leads. Weekes, the new lead writer for the Dragon Age franchise, was. I wish Weekes would have replaced Walters but I digress....

I didn't know exactly who was writing which parts of the game.

But I actually didn't mind the third arc either.  They needed to tie back the Asari to the Prothean, so that made sense.  The only part that didn't really work was Kai Ling, but that's just because he's a shitty character.  I get they wanted a human rival for Shepard, but he was just such a generic fuckwad that every part he was involved with became worse.

But I digress.  I really liked the whole of the game up until literally the last five minutes.  The Earth mission was pretty strong aside from a few points.  And while I would have really liked to see more of the impact that your coalition had, it was still pretty solid.  The scenes with Shepard, Anderson, and the Illusive Man were also pretty strong.

And then it just all completely unravels into weirdness.  The general idea wasn't actually that bad, but when you're limited to options being set out by your enemy, there is no way to feel like you've won.  I think if they would have replaced the Starchild with a prothean VI or something, it would have worked far better.
