I'm enjoying this gen.
I bought my first season pass ever in November, for Fallout 4, but mainly because it only cost me $10. I generally never buy dlc or season passes, though. I usually just wait until everything has been released, and get the goty edition, or whatever they decide to call it.
As for remasters, i have no problems with them, if they are well done, and they're not anymore than roughly $10 per game.
As for broken games, i buy very few games at launch anymore, due to there being so many broken games released, and also, because very few games are really worth the $60 price tag. If you wait 1-2 months, you can get most games for about half price physically, one way or another. Also, it took me a while, but i finally realized there's no point in me buying most games upon release, as i always have a backlog. I typically only buy 3 or 4 games a year, when they're released, the rest are black friday purchases.
My main gripe with this gen, is the multitude of multiplayer only games. I will only buy games for campaign mode, as i can't stand most multiplayer aspects of games. It's the same damn thing, over and over and over.
