| Geralt said: I am disgusted by the business practices this generation! We as gamers should stand up to these companies and stop buying their garbage. I am not going to be politically correct like the forums want me to be because we as gamers deserve justice. I am fighting for all of you! God damn season passes and DLC: At release Destiny costs well over 120 dollars to have the complete experice. Activision is so god damned greedy they want us to pay for extra dance moves for our characters. Are friends up north in Canada, due to the currency conversion, had to pay almost 170 dollars at release for the whole game. This is not he bungie we know from Halo 3. StarWars Battlefront costs 90 dollars to have the complete (well not really) experience Assassins Creed, Call of Duty, Fallout, and just about every other game that came out this generation so far has been trying to take advantage of us. It is disgusting. Even Nintendo is starting to use DLC in their games!
Broken Games: Fix your goddamn games. Assassins Creed Unity was a disaster. The Witcher 3 (an excelent game and since fixed) was broken at launch. There are many others. Games are too buggy and should not need day one patches. This is garbage! Halo: TMCC online was completely broken at launch. Remasters: While I am not totally against them, this generation managed to screw up all the remasters that came out so far. The Last of Us - Great game though it did not need a remaster and did not add anything new to the table. Halo TMCC: Totally screwed up the online. Apparently it's okay now. Wind Waker HD/TPHD remastering games that did not need it. Should have remastered the older Zeldas in HD. Does not generate any interest in the Wii U.
Lack of Content in Our Games: Who decided it would be a good idea not to have campaign modes anymore? StarWars Battlefront was ruined completely. Titanfall was a hit and a miss. Call of Duty no longer has campaign on older systems as a way of maximising profits. I am sure there are more.
Graphic Downgrades Not sure if Devs are outright lying or maybe our consoles we recieved this gen are just really weak. Games almost never look like their E3 showings. E3 is just a big lie! We are bringing it back together folks one game at a time.
Episodic Games: Companies are now deciding to sell us 1/5 of a game and sell us the other 4/5 for more money.
How did this start? This stated when companies started to go out of business during the recession. A decrease in competition cause these giant companies to become too powerful. Its gonna end here! EA, Ubisoft and Activision by themselves will destroy gaming as we know it. Not to mention all the others who will follow them when they see their quartely profits. Let me tell you, Indie games are a breath of fresh air. I encourage you all to go out and buy one the suits you. What can we do? Stop buying these games. If you do buy the games, do not get the DLC! We can cause a major movement online to stop all this stupid cooporate greed. We kicked Microsoft's ass when it came to the Xbox One (now the console is an excelent device). If we can change a entire console we can change the industry!
Summary: No more EA No more Ubisoft No more activision No more DLC No season pass crap No episodic games Don't buy games you know are broken until they've been fixed |
1. Nobody is forcing you to buy DLC. Nobody is forcing you to buy games on launch. I'd also like to remind you, and anyone else that has problems with DLC that game prices haven't gone up at nearly the rate they should have, all while development costs have exploded.
2. Yeah, I agree with this. Developers and especially publishers should be making sure the games work properly and releasing them when they're done.
3. So...you just think they should have remastered the games you wanted them to? Sure, damn the industry for not calling you up for advice.
4. Largely, games without single player have failed. It's very likely that Titanfall 2 (and possibly even Battlefront 2) will have more fleshed out single player content. So, the market seems to have spoken. Oh, and they aren't "Our Games" until we buy them.
5. How many games have done that? A handful this entire gen so far?
6. You make it sound like they are asking us to spend $60 on 1/5 of a game. Life is strange is episodic and in total is $29.99. Games aren't more expensive when they're episodic, it's just a different way to release a game.
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
