I have tried VR and yes its immersive for some games but it can also totally ruin other ones, and the main reason for why its only good for some games so far such as walking sims etc is the hardware. In time to come once VR matures and we are on the 2nd or 3rd gen devices yes putting on one of them VR helmets will be like being in the game as you say. That's a really weird thing to say to me considering I have no idea whatsoever if VR will be successful.
