I almost fell into that Lego Dimensions trap last week. When they had half off all the characters. The only thing holding me back was the price of the starter pack. If those were half off too, it would have been ON, like Donkey Kong. 😈 |
Then we're in a similar boat because it was the $60 price tag ($64 after US sales tax) that reeled me in. What first attracted me to the franchise was the Doctor Who level pack so the starter pack being on sale sealed the deal. At the time, I could have had it for $60 from Amazon (no tax and shipping cost), but I wanted to ensure I picked a box in mint condition.
I will admit that after playing the first two levels of Dimensions, it quelled my curiosity. Just last night, I was playing Hyperdimention Neptunia U and started the first Assassins Creed (you read that right). And I thought that I would not have missed Dimensions if I hadn't bought into it. But I'm glad I did because it's a light hearted romp of an adventure. It's very novel, and putting together the LEGO added an extra... dimension to the game play. $7.50 for a fun pack is ALMOST worth the price alone to build the LEGO. There was no way I would have bought into this if I had to purchase most everything at full price.
