Your selling to a much tougher crowd. How many people do you think are willing to spend 400$ for a VR headset when their console is already 300$? Now I could be 100% wrong, but I predict sales will be slow for a long time.

This pretty much is what others are failing to see here

Err. What you are failing to see, this isn't about PC/console. The focus is on VR. The target crowd are all those who are highly interested in VR and beyond. And the option with the best cost benefit ratio is likely to succeed.

“American gamers interested in VR look most forward to console and PC devices. One-third intend to purchase a Playstation VR and 13% look to buy the Oculus Rift.

And that was BEFORE the announcement of the price for the Rift. Now many are hestitant to purchase one and rather wait and see. Nonetheless, according to Palmer Luckey sales are better than expected and they're in the process of ramping up production.

Estimations range from 150.000 to 350.000 sold units.
