There was a time when seeing it did fill my heart with joy. I used to joke so the time and get nothing but praise. Nowadays? Nope!
But NOTHING is worse than that orange icon that says I have a friend request, private message, wall post, etc. Half the time I'm on mobile and can't click it easily. When I do, 60% of the time, I'm under attack.
