This is another topic entirely, but that's another response that bugs me. "Just buy a ps4/Xbone. What? You can't aford $400 for a new console"? Because for all people who make that argument know, no I can't afford that. And indeed no I can't.
I actually have hope that these situations will get less common as the generation goes on. As games get more expensive to make refraining from releasing one's game on as many platforms as is viable is an increasingly unwise move. I think we're just seeing exclusivity wars flare up again because it's the start of a new generation and Sony and Microsoft are trying hard to solidify their market shares. Once the install bases have been firmly established (a few years in, hopefully) then I think they'll stop throwing money around to snap up titles. I hope that's what will happen anyway.
