Five Uncharted games counting Golden Abyss over the last 9 years. All of the games have featured very similar gameplay, but has also been largely story-driven.

So we have a little under two years per game for Uncharted with a great story, vs less than a year per game for CoD with what may as well be no story.

Eh, the frequency of a game release doesn't change the fact that the game is very similar, as in Uncharted's case. Don't take that as a negative thing though.  In terms of CoD, it's quality changes year to year, though that's largely due to 3 different developers being involved in creating the games now. Since your main argument against CoD is that its the same game with little variation each year, that leads me to believe that you haven't played any CoD title recently...
