It's a sad state of affairs but if it makes people happy...

Many kids and even adults want to shoot their friends online so this is where they go.  The silver lining is that it keeps the industry moving.  I just hope that it doesn't squelch out opportunities for people to try different games instead of ensuring there is a format for them to do so.  

 

 

i dont really feel like its keeping the industry moving.. as a result of this you have things like.. companies collapsing or getting bought out by companies that really dont even give a shit about video games. and you can sometimes even get outright monopolies. to me, this sort of thing holds the industry back, and it is sad to see. there is no industry moving here.

an industry being healthy isnt measured by how many sales a game has, but by how profitable the games are to whoever developed them. (my opinion)
