Some speculations after reading a lot of comments.
1) the rift's price has got to be inflated at least $120 for the 2 games and x1 controller.
2) the rifts price has to be inflated cuz they will probabaly not sell at cost, no matter what they say. they are not a big software creator so they would make almost nothing on it. Plus more peolple will just buy from steam anyways so its very unlikely they sell at cost.
3) sony has a lower end product, but it performs almost as good as the rift, only diference will come from the performance of the ps4 vs pc. so the price will be lower thanks to this.
4) sony is a long time manufacture who will make almost all the components themselfs, lowering cost.
5) sony is a major developer so they will proffit of software, so is feesable that the psvr will sell at cost, maybe less.
I honestly see psvr coming out at $300-$350 from the previous obvservations Ive seen on this thread. ALthough you guys can be talking out your asses and this is all the info I really have on vr so my guess can sound ridiculous.
But I have to say that I agree that this is a new experience and price is the key factor for new experiences. The rift already is priced a bit high so I really dont see any of the others like star and vive making a real dent in the market, even the rift. It still unprooven tech and no real killer apps, just indys. Depending on sonys price, I see all hope resting on their shoulders for vr's future.
It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.
