I prefer original hardware or at least VC titles on newer systems. I downloaded an emulator once a long time ago and I'll never do it again. Plus, the original carts are worth money and go up in value. The same can't be said about emulators. I view collecting video games almost like collecting sports cards with the added benefit that you can play them.
Perhaps you should add my point about collecting value of original carts to the op...
