Yes.

Yes.

Maybe? But it's not anything that's been announced yet, and it would be tough to make it work if there was.

If you can't decide on which to go with, a good place to start would be seeing if your PC can run the Rift.

About halfway down you'll see something that says "Oculus Compatibility Tool" you can download it and it will tell you if your PC will work.

Overall, I think Oculus will see faster support for non gaming aspects of VR and will evolve faster than PSVR will. But, it will also be more expensive and I expect Sonys exclusives to be better.

Sonys VR wont be PC compatible? Is this confirmed somewhere? Big misstep for Sony if true.

PSVR uses the Playstation Camera, which has a proprietary connector, Sony surely won't produce/license adapters for that

apart from that Sony will offer the headset pretty much at the cost they get them to retailers (production, shipping, duties/taxes, retailer cut etc), so they need to make money with software, but they won't see a dime from software sold on PC

and developing and updating PC drivers for a variety of systems would be a cost factor on top of that, so it's very apparent that it's not in Sony's interest to make PSVR PC compatible

personally I would definitely prefer a headset I can use for all of my platforms, which unfortunately won't (officially) happen for gen1 VR, but I can see it happening in the future if PS Now takes off on smart devices/pcs (and connections become fast enough to stream VR games)
