The browser on the PS4 is does just fine for basic browsing needs, but I would rather just use my smart phone.
I will say the X1 browser is a much smoother experience though. However in my experience the PS4 browser is more compatible with certain sites than X1. Been so long though that I cannot give a proper example.
All in all, both need work but the X1 has the edge when it comes to browsing.
