Eh -- this is only partially true. The OR has a screen per eye and at a resolution that's about 12% higher.

However, the OR also is a peripheral device for the PC rather than an actual platform. They make ALL their money on hardware sales and therefore OR will run with higher margins (same problem with Steam Box).

The PSVR will be probably be $299-399 vs OR @ $599. It will be $100 cheaper off the git go, just because of the platform royalties Sony expects to recoup on software. An additional $100-200 will be based on actual components (Sony can buy components cheaper too.... don't forget they are a longtime hardware manufacturer).

Sony will only get more royalties if they sell to people who otherwise weren't going to purchase a ps4.  I already have a ps4, I already buy many games for it and i already pay for psn plus. Once I buy a PSVR (which i plan to pre-order) I'm not likely going to start spending more money on games then i was before. I already buy plenty.  I'll just be more selective when purchasing non vr games then before becuase I'll be buying vr games as well. With Oculus all the money they make off selling games in their store is new money.
