In May 2013 it was reported at 13 million with half in the past 12 months, in January 2015 that number was 25 million, so about 19 were sold in roughly 3 years. A new figure will likely be given in the next few months which would likely put it over 30 million. When u factor in Roku, Amazon, Google sales figures, it's well over 50 million and growing.

And Xb one + PS4 is well over 50 million in less time. Seems to me like there is not much demand here with a helluva lot of people watching their streaming via other means with a much lower cost of entry. In particular using multi-function devices they already own.

 

In 2014 alone these streaming devices sold 30 million worldwide which is more than PS4+XB1+Wii U did.
