did you forget that kinect failed to deliver last generation, that there was no added value because kinect games outright suck? and the other reasons why xbox one sales were bad? namely playstation 4 at a lower price plus superior specs and DRM?

also, only because you dont know keytitles doesnt mean they werent mentioned. why no mans sky is supposed to be more key then gt sport, rigs, eve valkyrie, doax3, ace combat 7 etc...?

Is that a question ?

Failed or not it sold 25 million.  Point stands.

While waggle games might have sucked, Vr is same great games but different perspective different way to view them.

It begs the question why No Mans Sky should be seen as a keytitle but others with confirmed VR support not. GT in GT Sports stands for Gran Turismo. You know, that highly acclaimed and well selling racing series.

What has sold 25 mio.? Kinect? And what point stands? The point was Kinect 2.0 is poorly supported and the available software consists of crappy ported mobile games, action games and mediocre party games.

I think every one in their right mind knows GT is a key title, but its GT no need to shove it down peoples throats.

I think your confusing marketing push for a new Ip nearing release to that of a established collosus that is coming way down the line.

The point is a add on sold extremly well, appreantly accoring to you one with shitty games.  There is a history of add ons doing well on console, no reason Vr wont do well.  Especially one on the most popular console and brand.

i think we a have a little bit of a misunderstanding here. i m not saying PS VR wont do well and that no system sellers are mentioned. in the contrary. i say all kinds of VR apps are key.

kinect did well in the beginning, based on false promises and expectations. of those 25 mio sold, 8 mio were distributed to consumers in the first 3 month. its appeal rapidly worn off because the lack of quality "key" games. motion control is flawed. there is the big problem of being unable to implement gameplay mechanics into different traditionell games satisfyingly. as a matter of fact imo the concept of motion control is incomplete without VR. it has very limited uses by its own, very few practical uses in comparison.

sticking to traditional gaming is a lot easier when conceptualising VR experiences, since only the perspective is changed and without the obligation of abandoning traditional input devices. hence release titles of the OR is a 3d plattformer and a dog fight fps. two very different genre. both playable with a normal gamepad. that is why PSVR wont have move controllers included. at least it will be optional (different bundles). the DS4 is a part of the PSVR ecosystem. just like the vive/move controllers it can be made visible in the virtual reality.

furthermore, VR could be a solution. ie for notorious camera issues in 3rd person games (like ninja gaiden). the cam no longer would ve a will of its own. because you are the cam. having full control by slightly moving your head. genre-wise there is no limit.

idealy would be cockpitview games which were quite popular in the past and experiencing a revival.

ithink one important thing is missing: star wars. i believe having x-wing/tie-fighter on board would give VR - whatever headset - a good push. i could imagine even non-die-hard sw fans getting teary eyes when doing the trench run, hearing kenobi speaking to them from the beyond.

personally id prefer mechwarrior. would be very hard for me to wait till prices get lower and resist pre ordering an OR if it d come with a new fully fledged mech game.

many people are making the mistake judging VR by the appearance of the hardware. they just look at a hunk of plastic and think of it as an accessory. a gimmick. not at the possibilities the technlogy bears. and this perception is blatantly wrong.
