Yup, it's insane when you give it the slightest bit of thought. So many messed up people in NLA. If it all was a random group of survivors, fine; but a handpicked group of people shouldn't have so many bad apples, unless you wanted to pick bad apples.

Exactly , some of the sane ones aren't much better  you have two indigens fighting over territory , now  any one with commonsense would do  away with one indigen and the territorial dispute is over , but no the idiot scientist says you have to kill both because he doesn't know who's who.

I learned an important lesson though , no matter what henious crimes your fellow blades may commit you have to let them run away or forgive them , and what ever you do never tell those in charge about it , also don't worry if your actions leads to more deaths.
