Sounds interesting right? Unfortunately I have no Idea in what ways the industry as a whole benefits from sonys success, or I would make a thread like that myself! :P

It shows health. Them doing good keeps games pumping out, which helps everyone. We've not heard solid numbers from Microsoft about the X1, but clearly, they're doing good enough to remain in it. That's how the gamers benefit.

So, this is more about how good is for the industry to have consoles with great sales, rather than Sony as the leader is good for the industry.
