Yes, but it clearly shows (as if we didn't know that already) that the JRPG audience is non existent on Xbox One. The games aren't there either. Don't think it would have help, what JRPG fan would buy a non-JRPG console and a non-JRPG timed exclusive game for a demo that would also in that case be available later on other platforms? If the Xbox owners are not interested at all and the potentially interested non-owners don't have enough incentives to buy the console, the demo is useless.
And FF7R is out of the question because it's a Sony marketing game and PS4 timed or console exclusive (and we're not even sure it will be on Xbox One, it won't IMO). Even the FF15 pre beta is only running on PS4 and PC atm according to one of the last development interview...
