Think back on all the deals console companies have made that keep games off their competitors platforms but include a PC release. It's not nearly as bug a deal as people make it out to be. I mean, there's a reason SFV and No Man's Sky are coming to PC too. |
It has nothing to do with list wars. The more exclusives MS brings to PC the less exclusives the Xbox One has. To illustrate;
"Man, Gears of War: UE, Dead Rising 3, Halo Wars, Killer Instinct, Sea of Thieves, Recore, and Cuphead all look really cool! I should buy an Xbox one!"
"Why? Just get those games on PC..."
The percentage of high profile Xbox One exclusives that are coming or have already come to PC is huge and if the current trends are anything to go by more will come.
There is a very big difference between the things we're talking about here.

And the situation you described is no big deal because its extremely rare. Thats why Gears is already on PC. Thats why other deals always include PC releases. Thats why MicroS. y can charge for online play while PC has it free. Thats why the consoles digital stores can be loaded with high priced games while the PC market gets them for massive discounts.
The overlap just isnt there. So yeah, the worry about it and the doom and gloom isnt really neccessary

Agree 1000%. Some folks (a lot) just want to play on console period. So making the games for PC as well is just more money in the bank for MS, and doesn't hurt Xbox in any meaningful way.
