Wait, wait, wait.... I think that the new genres emerging wil vary the market, but there is nothing wrong with a little Xenaziombie Killing either. You don't like those games you don't have to play them. There are plenty of games for all to enjoy... unless you are an Alien, Nazi, or Zombie, but nobody is sticking up for them.

I like Puzzle league AND Call of Duty. I like Action Movies, Chick Flicks, and Dramas. You don't have to polarize large segmants as good or bad, just take it as it comes. Even the less than stellar, or the out of your genre can have redeeming qualities.

(Edit: I used the term chick flick, not to demean women. I meant it as a movie marketed to women through broad generalizations about what mostly male dominated movie studios think women want, I find some of these movies have entertaining out-look on society. I added in this, not to avoid offending anyone, to demonstrate the depth of variety that we see. They make a game like Nintendog to get girls gaming, but there are many males that play it, most companies don't get it. Nintendo stumble opon it by accident with their "girl game" and older gamer experiments: They are games for everyone. I don't think many homemakers are playing Cooking Mama.)

I totally agree, I'm not asking these games to go away. I just wish they didn't totally dominate the market, as they do now. What are the games that "hardcore" playstation fans hail as the best in PS2 history? The most frequently listed names are God of War, Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, and Final Fantasy; hopefully, you can see the dominance of young males in those choices. Racing, swords, and guns, through and through.

Using the movie analogy, I'm not asking for violent, action packed movies to go away, I just want art house flicks and chick flicks and comedies and everything else to have their chance. The utter domination of the market by these types of games is a little depressing, that's all.
