Sega brought Sonic down, not Nintendo. I can somewhat understand the Genesis does what Nintendon't  "Sonic represents everything that Nintendo is not" argrement, but do you really see Sony or Microsoft pushing a new Sonic game? Especially given the perceived value of the franchise now? Would your average "hardcore" gamer even buy a Sonic game these days?? If the game has been in development for a while and is "ambitious", then I seriously doubt they would be satisfied with ~2M across the PS4/XB1. They'll do better numbers if it launches on NX (and  3DS/Wii U). If you want Sega to divorce Nintendo then what do you think they should do with Sonic, because simply appearing on the XB1 and PS4 won't pull the franchise out of the toilet.

The key to pulling it out is by releasing a revolutionary TRUE Sonic 4 which is worthy of the name Sonic The Hedgehog. Like I said, Sonic use to stand for something. He was the punk rock to Mario's Frampton. Sega needs to give him that identity back some how and make him appear "cool" again. I just don't see how that's possible being a Wii-U exclusive.

This is beyond bizarre. Your arguments are based off of shit 20 years ago. Its irrelevant today and has nothing to do with Sonic's failure.

- Sonic being pushed as cooler than Mario was a marketing tactic to devalue Mario

- In todays world, Why should SEGA still focus playing up tactic? They're NOT in console war anymore and haven't been for more than 20 years. The minute original PS hit market that became SEGA's priority. Mario is not popular anymore and suffers from same issue as Sonic; relics from the past losing their place in the market, Mario is no longer a obstacle to Sonic's success, why should Sonic/SEGA focus on still on being a Anti Mario/Nintendo? Whats point? Whats the gain?

Sonic has sold 50 million copies since introduced on Nintendo consoles alone and you wanr them stop because .... 20 year old shit? Do you know how fuckin stupid that sounds? SEGA's problems of yesterday are NOT SEGA's problem today. You know what SEGA's problem is/was? A lack of respect for their Legacy, their quality standards, their fans. Thats SEGA's problem.

You need to let that bullshit go, put it in a box, then never mention it again where is not relevant. You sound like you just read the SEGA wiki as just regurgitating into whenever you think its slightly relevant.

The only relevant thing to come out of your post is Sonic should be exclusive to Nintendo. Absolutely, but not because of 20 years ago shit, but because Sonic fanbase is spread throughout all consoles.
