Hopefully they develop a winning formula and STICK to it this time. One major problem with Sonic is that most of the 3D Sonic games play differently. At this point Sega doesn't have much left, so they really need a winner.

As for platforms, there is no way this doesn't launch on a Nintendo platform. It WILL launch on one of NX/WiiU/3DS. If the gimped Wii version of Unleashed sold more than the PS3 and 360 versions combined, then they won't pass on Nintendo; power be damned.

Sonic was NOT invented to compliment Nintendo. Sonic was directly chosen to be the anti-Nintendo mascot. He's fast, he's got an attitude, he's cool. Mario is not those things. Nintendo is not those things. Nintendo's image is Amiibo (toys), Wooly World (young kids) and wholesome. If Sega wants to be taken seriously again, they need to get out of bed with Nintendo and go back to what made them awesome imo.

Sega brought Sonic down, not Nintendo. I can somewhat understand the Genesis does what Nintendon't  "Sonic represents everything that Nintendo is not" argrement, but do you really see Sony or Microsoft pushing a new Sonic game? Especially given the perceived value of the franchise now? Would your average "hardcore" gamer even buy a Sonic game these days?? If the game has been in development for a while and is "ambitious", then I seriously doubt they would be satisfied with ~2M across the PS4/XB1. They'll do better numbers if it launches on NX (and  3DS/Wii U). If you want Sega to divorce Nintendo then what do you think they should do with Sonic, because simply appearing on the XB1 and PS4 won't pull the franchise out of the toilet.
