Yeah there was no excuse but it's happened and been dealt with just like how it took a week and longer for SOny to deal with their even bigger fiasco. I only wonder how long you'll keep on at Valve and not with Sony.

Well, in a way, we had it comming. We been preaching for so long about the undeniable truth that PC gaming is far superior. It was a matter of time before console gamers tried attacking the Masterace, at the slightlest sign of blood. But like you said, the PSN incident was way worse. And lets not forget the Red Ring of Dead , aka gamings biggest fiasco ever.

lol I just find it funny how it's always got to be blood for blood, it never makes things even in the end and always keeps the pointless charades going on.

Fact of the matter is they fucked up and are answering for it but they definitely didn't fuck up on the same level Sony did and that's for a service people actually pay for, with this situation those that claimed people bought stuff with their cards were caught lying/didn't provide concrete proof, on Sony's end it was actual proof that their accounts had all been fully compromised and made vulnerable in more ways than one.

Also yeah RROD was also another biggun that screwed over plenty of systems, on PC if a part of your PC died then you simply buy a new part of replace it under warranty.
