In TLOU, you were playing as the girl you were meant to be protecting.... there was a lot at stake and the odds were stacked against her. The result of losing for Ellie was a lot more nefarious than what would happen to Lara. I mean... Lara gets a bullet or quick death but Ellie... raped and killed and then most probably eaten and death would probably be slower knowing that freak! |
By your descriptions, based on context, they sound pretty different.
When I played TLoU, I snuck up on that guy and hit him with enough stealth attacks to finally kill him. In RotTR, the guy takes all of Lara's weapons. I just made some explosives out of what was laying around and blew his ass up.
To me, it was no different than any number of games that didn't allow a full frontal assault. Might as well have been the Mr. Freeze vs Batman fight in Arkham City, for all I cared.
