so what? you needed a Gamecube to play Wind Waker and an N64 to play OOT. Its all just HW, hell if anything it should matter even less in SS case since its a add on/controller vs having to have a completly different system. And if one is a fan of Zelda would a ten dollar add on to a controller really deter one from getting the game? kind of doubt it.

I dont think install base is as big a factor as some make out. If people REALLY want a game they are going to get it no matter what.

Of Course you need GCSE to play WW, but if you want to play SS you need Wii and addon for controller or different type of controller, not exactly same thing. Motionplus was $20 not $10, and Remote Plus was $50, but I am pretty sure that almost every real Zelda fan regardless that, paid that extra cash in order to play Zelda, but there were also so many people who had Wii and they are not big Zelda fans but they wanted to play SS also, but they didn't wanted to give money for game and addon/controller that is required for that game.

Install base is definitely one of the biger factors when we talking about sales of software, that is a fact. Reality is that buyers of games are not only people who really want that some specific game, some people will buy game because commercial or hype about that game, some will buy game like present for someone else...and definitely lot a of those people didnt buy SS when they realised they need to pay extra cash if they want to use that game. So yes, definitely SS sales numbers would be higher if game doesn't required Wii Remote Plus or Motion Plus. Also Wii was very dead at end of 2011. when SS finally arrived.

the Zelda bundle that came with the motion plus was 60 ten more dollars than the standard edition. I still dont think its that much to deter people and considering just how well WiiSports Resort sold i imagine a lot of people who had interest already had the device, i know i did.

Again those people werent really Zelda fans so they probably wouldnt have bought it either, i dont think the motion plus edition hurt it that much.
