Say what u will about the prequels but I find it funny when people say the acting is any worse than the originals. Take Luke for example the scene where Vader tells him he is his father is supposed to be this emotional scene but Luke's acting is so bad it's hard to immerse yourself into it.

 

The direction/staging/performances are worse in the prequels. There are a few wonky instances of bad acting in the OT but they're not plagued by those moments like the prequels are constantly, nor do they have a dull script with lifeless characters in them. That's another problem, the actors really can't do anything if there's nothing in the script for them to work with. 

 

Sounds like TFA because the script was boring and the new character s was uninteresting without goid personalities or clear motivation which the prequels got right. Rey was Luke 2.0, Finn was half Solo and part un clear, tge pilot was irrelevant, the new droid was a R2D2 wannabe and Kylo was an akward Vader/Anakin rehash who had poor casting.
