where/when did they say it won't have a world map/open world?

My sources say they're making an "environment where character actions affect the scenery." That to me is immersive.

Didn't they confirmed in the latest interview that there won't be a world map, that Normura is not interested in that? Also the game is gonna be episodic so I dont see a way how can they do the whole map in that format. 

 

show me where they confirmed it. plus, we didn't get to travel everywhere around the world map until disc 3 anyways.

are they gonna remove the Highwind? Submarine? Gold Chocobo? Gold Chocobo is necessary for Knights of the Round, and those other vehicles like the Buggy, and Tiny Bronco is there to advance in the story and travel around parts of the world.
