Yeah I don't understand the strong storyline thing. It's not a movie. I want to play a game. That's why I bought a game!! Sure, certain genres can have a storyline but the whole thing of "no Oscar = shit game" makes no sense. |
You guys do realise this is a "unpopular opinions"thread and not a "comment on someones else opinion and try to make him change his mind "thread right ? For me story makes all the difference in the world, if you dont care about story, great for you, I do and if the game has one than Im gona judge it as I see fit, if the game does not have a story, like Mario for instance (princess kidnaped save her is a background not realy a plot) or tetris or whatever than I wont judge it cause the game isnt trying to tell a tale at all, but if it does than Im gona compare it to other games that also have storys and that do it right while also having fun gameplay.
And imo Zeldas gameplay isnt even that great, I also dont have a problem with cartoony graphics in itself but I always felt liek Zelda is a game that dont realy know what it want to be, or a game that wanted ot be more mature but Nintendo would never aprove so they dressed an elf in green, made him mute and expressionless and simplified the plot and gameplay. And I have that opinion ever since I was like 10, so its not something I developped as I grew older, ever since I was a kid I felt Zelda was a game that wanted/could be more than it is but since it was Nintendo it had to stay "Nintendofriendly".
