They are different games that play differently. I for one, shun the social stuff in Persona and I played all of them at release. I liked the first two, then three happened and it has nosedived since then.
FF has worsened, but is rebounding, unlike Persona 5 that is trying to replicate P4G... I didn't play the Golden version, but I started hating it since the first iteration of three, so I can say it's not my cup of tea. I also shun Japanese settings.

So... you havent played it. Persona 3 is good, but Persona 4 is excellent. You really should give it a try. The story and characters are way more developed and interesting as you are solving a murder mystery. Its no longer a dorm, you have a family. Everything is more personal in persona 4.
Are you more interested in FFXV? Perfectly fine. Does that give you the right to bash a series that proved itself to have high quality? No, it really doesnt.

What part of "I played all at release" did you not understand? I am not bashing it, but I don't think highly of it...

Oh... when you say it went downhill from there i assumed you didnt play 4. Its indeed weird that you say that, but well... more your loss than mine. I don't know how you can't enjoy it. It really isnt that different from FF in terms of gameplay. FFXV is the odd one out cause its an ARPG. Wether good or not remains to be seen.
