Yay! Finally some surperior tracker numbers!I was going to post this last week but I decided to wait until this week to see how sales were.

I was thinking last week that Vita sales are pretty unusual when we consider how it typically does during the holidays. Usually we see: week 49>50 small increase, to 50>51 Large increase. THIS year however it has sizable boosts both weeks. For reference here's some numbers (note that 2013-2015 include PSTV).

  • 2012 - Week 49 (11,039) > Week 50 (14,446) > Week 51 (21,266) lol
  • 2013 - Week 49 (29,366) > Week 50 (35,946) > Week 51 (55,591)
  • 2014 - Week 49 (23,341) > Week 50 (25,013) > Week 51 (33,797)
  • 2015 - Week 49 (22,506) > Week 50 (35,909) > Week 51 (53,123)
It's actually at 2013 levels which I remind you is the year that the Vita was fresh off the release of a new hardware revision, new hardware altogether (PSTV), and it biggest release ever (as far as first week) God Eater 2. If you take the PSTV out of the equation it's actually UP from 2013. And it's literally because of ONE game..... that released nearly 40 weeks ago.

Now next week I don't think Vita stands a chance at attaining 2013 level sales considering that was the week it had the Final Fantasy X/X-2 bundle in which it did over 87k (or was it 75k... i forget).
Lastly, as Kresnik stated, the demographic change Vita has occured this holiday may ,in my thought process, result in week 1 of 2016 being a decline over week 52 like Nintendo consoles or at the very least be flat. I'll be interested in seeing if this actually happens or not, because if not the Vita still has 2 weeks left of large boosts in hardware sales.
End rant and yay for Minecraft probably hitting 500k this year.
