But Nintendo doesn't make a fraction of what MS and Sony make off of third party titles overall. Nintendo's first party exclusives are developed and published by Nintendo themselves meaning they are the ones spending money on making that project which is typically millions upon millions of dollars. MS & Sony CHARGE third party developers to develop on their respected consoles and don't have to spend any money on the development or publishing of the software. Sony also makes a pretty penny off of the Bluray platform. Third party software is hugely successful on PS4 and MS' third party sales are MUCH higher than the Wii U's. So no, just because Nintendo has a couple exclusives that sell higer than a couple of other exclusives doesn't mean that Nintendo shouldn't worry. Look, our revenue, profits, software sales, hardware sales, accessory sales are all down from last generation by massive percentages BUT!!!! we have a couple of exclusives that have yet to sell 5 million units BUT!!!!!! they have sold more than other exclusives in this generation soooo...no need to worry, all we wanted was to have higher selling exclusives. |
you have no idea what you are talking about
Nintendo most likely is not making much less profit this generation (when considering the 3DS + Wii U) than Sony is from the PS4 despite the PS4 dominating the market
the reality is that Nintendo does push a lot of software despite low hardware sales in this case, and that in the end they have some of the best margins in their business in all of the video game industry
you can sell a kajillion software but if you don't make much profit its useless. and you're wrong, Sony doesn't make THAT much off of third party games when compared to first part, which is why they've been pushing lately to bring back a lot of their IP
bear in mind that Nintendo made MORE profit during the PS2/Gamecube era than Sony did from their video game division, despite Sony dominating then as well.
