@BCNR34: How hard are those to import?

I'm thinking about either getting a Skyline in the future or just putting a Skyline engine in a 240SX.

well, do you live in the US? :P

since motorex went under its become a lot more expensive and difficult to import to the US. i don't really know much about importing to the US though, sorry.

but, since i live in canada, i can just find an importer and buy the car directly from them, with all shipping, import duty, gst, and AC tax already covered. plus they come with detailed estimates for insurance companies, since canadian insurance companies know nothing about skylines (at least where i live) insurance is dirt cheap though, i pay 1700$ a year. not bad for a 320hp car :P

a car only has to be 15 years old to be eligible for importing to canada (gray import law), which is kind of annoying (no R34's for me) but there isn't much you can do about that, they are considering changing the law up here to 25 years to stop people importing cars for use in street racing, but if they do change the law, my cars value will go up exponentially so it's a win/lose situation

Mmm, yeah, I'm in the US (couldn't you tell by the suburban background in my pic's? :) ).  I've heard importing a Skyline to the US is a humongous hassle and very costly, so I just wanted to make sure.  I wish they'd give us more choice in the US than a $70k GTR.  I guess my dilemma became a tad easier.  Now I just have to decide between a 240SX, Mazda RX8, and a Honda S2000.
