Those changes don't show that they recognise their failure to appeal to the mainstream gamer. They still haven't made the changes they really need to make; diversifying their software output, making expected features like voice chat standard, etc. And they don't need to change Zelda, they just need to return to its most popular form; the Ocarina/Twilight Princess approach, instead of dicking around with unconventional art styles. And that's the thing, Zelda U is only a "very hyped game" among the Nintendo hardcore. Mainstream gamers don't care about it. |
Those changes show that they are aware that they failed this gen and because of that they having big changes. And with NX they very clear that they will not compete again directly with PS/XB, they again will try something different, unique and mass appeal, something similar they done with Wii.
Main reasons why those two game are best selling games are because is not just beacuse OoT is first 3D Zelda and great Zelda game, its probably best game of all time, while TP was launch title on best selling Nintendo console ever. So Zelda U also can achieve similar goals. Beautiful unconventional Zelda U art style in era where almost every game have realistic art style is advantage not flaw, especially for type of game Zelda is.
Relly!? I wrote to you so many reasons why Zelda U will sell better than WW on GC and you mentione only hype!? Of Course that Nintendo fans and Zelda fans are very hyped, but mainstream is also aware of this game. But my point was that Zelda U is way more hyped game than WW on GC was. My points stands, you are totally unrealistic when you saying that Zelda U will sell like WW on GC.
