I have the same opinion! Tried the demo on my 360 back then and it felt so awkward I almost skip it. Since I was craving for an RPG at that moment, and it was developed by Capcom, I chose to give it a try and I completely loved it, including its flaws!
It's one of the most brilliant flawed gems in the whole seventh gen. I love this game to death.
