Not so sure about that. If that was true, the box would barely need to be bigger than an USB stick. Yet it looks like it's size is roughly similar to a Wii (non- U)

PlayStationVR will come with an extra processing box, it has the same size like a wii or wii u

 

Intrresting, i think its a good decision by Sony to use extra hardware, VR takes a lot of power and will be expensive anyways. I hope this means uncharted 4 like games will be possible without segnificant downgrades in VR too.

considering the size, I'd say a Wiistation. Or an OUYE for the design.
