He's famous for being unwaveringly objective and unbiased. He is also incredibly intelligent and has called out the industry on many faults. He is most famous for opposing SOPA, I would reckon. And he has Cancer? Dying, depends on how you look at it. Isn't everyone dying? 

 

Yeah, read the thread. At the time, I only remembered his name from a thread about him being terminal. Before that I never even heard of the guy. He seems pretty respected. Guess I should check out his work.
