Not sure why, steam prices in Aus are the same as the US, they are even listed in USD. With the AUD buying 0.72USD at the moment, a $US59 game becomes $82. For some reason, in Aus retail most new games come out in the $AU69-79 range, really large releases can be found for as low as $64AUD (Battlefront, Fallout 4, those type of large releases). After the initial release they usually go up to $89 for a while, before dropping down to $49 when they get their first big price cut. Once the successor is announced, they usually drop to around $39. Factor in data caps in Aus and our slower internet speeds, and steam is almost never cheaper than console pricing on game release.

Steam is cheaper once the game reaches a steam sale, but its not like PSN or XB Live don't have sales, so the price parity remains the same.

For me it's a different story and India as far as things go.

Also I find Steam sales to still be the better sales though with GoG being a close second in the industry.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
