This seems like a weird argument to me: "Don't play games looking their best now, because in 10 years you can invest in a killer rig to make your old games look half as good as the current generation of games..."

Emulation should be a last resort in most instances. The results are far from perfect, and fidelity to the original experience is a big issue because of the proprietary hardware of many classic consoles.

Not to mention, many old PC games still have community support. The mods for Halo CE (aka Halo PC) have kept a community coming back to a game that's more than a decade old.
