You do know that PC gaming is not cloud gaming and you can have all your games on a hard drive to play them later, right? I also find the BC argument weird since PC is the platform that has the best BC of all the platforms. It's the best place to play old games. The same way you keep the old consoles you can keep old computers or just have one computer with multiple OS to make sure even the oldest games run perfectly. Though for most games there are patches and workarounds to get them to run on current OS. Emulators make your argument even weirder since that's the thing that especially for collectors and fans of old games makes PC the ultimate platform combining both PC and console games on a single platform. Really, the only thing current consoles have over PC are the exclusives. And even those exclusive rights "expire" when there is a proper emulator. |
So you want to tell me i should keep giant pc towers for every version of windows? = no space and no $$$.
If PCs BC is so great why it cant run its own pc games on every version of windows? Switching to older OSs like XP is annoying and tedious, until it boots up i can hook a new console on my TV.
PC is the ultimate platform when it comes to hardware but not when it comes to software. Its not about this box vs this box, its about games and which one is a better foundation to make a library. PC gamers say console gaming is not a good investment because youre stuck to hardware limitations, this thread is my answer to that.
Physical console games > steam games
