@Viper1,
one question, what`s wrong with this comparison:
http://vgchartz.com/hwlaunch.php?cons1=PS2&reg1=All&cons2=PS3&reg2=All&cons3=X360&reg3=------&weeks=85
and why it`s =/= ?

@darthdevidem01,
people just forgetting this:
http://vgchartz.com/hwlaunch.php?cons1=GC&reg1=Japan&cons2=PS3&reg2=Japan&cons3=PS&reg3=Japan&weeks=110
All PS3 need is FFXIII release, but maybe MGS4, WKS, ES, Siren, Naruto, T6 and etc. will be enough. =)

=/= means "is not equal to" or the opposite of =

What is wrong with that chart is what I've pointed out many times already.  The PS2 has only 39 retail months on that chart while the PS3 gets 52 at the same point in time (week 78 it looks like).

I'll explain what I mean by months of sale.

PS2 launched on 3/04/2000 in Japan.  That chart shows 78 weeks of PS3 sales so 78 weeks after PS2 launched in 9/01/2001.  That means the PS2 had 18 months of sales in Japan, 11 months of sales in the US and 10 months of sales in Europe for a total of 39 months of PS2 sales by week 78 of that chart,

PS3 launched on  11/11/2006 in Japan.  Those 78 weeks of sales give the PS3 19 months of sales in Japan, 19 months of sales in the US and 14 months of sales in Europe for a total of 52 months of PS3 sales by week 78 of that chart.

This means that the chart you posted is actualy comparing 52 months of PS3 sales to just 39 months of PS2 sales for the same 78 week time period.  Now do you see how that is an unfair comparison and why epople tell you that you need to compare by territory?
