They slatured because huge mistakes they made with consoles, not with games. Games are great and they are selling phenomenal regardless instal base.

Software sells hardware. Wii U's failure is what happens when you ignore the gaming mainstream, which is now on PS4/Xbox One.

Software sells hardware, but if you have only good software and almost everything else is done bad (terrible name and bad marketing, bad time of launch, bad launch titles, high price, almost useless gamepad, software droughts..) software can't sell hardware, and Nintendo made so many mistakes with Wii U.
Wii success is also happens when you ignore gaming mainstream, you already forget that!?
