Sigh...... its happening already.

As long as Nintendo are selling a box that's put primarily under the TV and plays games primarily. Then they are competing with the PS4/XB1.

And I'll say it again. if Nintendo releases the NX in 2016/2017 or even 2018. It will fail. And fail hard. They have to release in the same year that the next PS/XB comes out. That's the only chance they have of competing. They release too early, 2016/2017, and there won't be enough of a power difference to make it look distinctly a generational leap over what at the time will be a much cheaper ps4/xb1. Release too late, and people would just wait for a year to 18 months for the inevitable release of what would be a more powerful PS5/xb2.

Sometimes I wonder how the people that run Nintendo think... they are just going about all this all wrong.

If NX is somewhat similar to the speculation behind it, Nintendo is moving away from the traditional old bussiness model. They are going after something new, something that can sell better than WiiU/3DS.

This seems like one of those things that sounds good on paper but in reality isn't.

What is this new business model? what exactly are they doing? Are the making a traditional console with a touchscreen controller that allows you play games away from the console like the WiiU but this time u can play your console games away from home? Or are they making a handheld that you can plug into your TV and play your games their too. Either way basically making something with a unified architecture so games made for one works on the other?

I don't get it.
