The article does not say much to be honest. It lists a bunch of nuch words and does not care to explain itself. it can basically be resumed in 2 sentences: Japanese games sell better on PS; and Xbox sales are bad in Japan. That is the reason, pure and simple. 

He does not list specific reasons but uses vague buzzwords that can mean a thousand things: ''cultural differences'', ''business meetings'' (lol how does he know, was he in the meetings?), ''console, and controller design'' (uh what? didn't the ps3 try to launch with the banana controller), ''due to many factors''

The reason is simply that there is a long history of Kojima games on PS, that his games have sold better, etc. It's not Microsoft's fault. Kojima simply went with what is familiar to him.
