Really? Because I feel much of MGS style of storytelling is very much more of a Japanese theme than a western one. MGS is just one that western players have embraced more than others. If anything I would say his games are well rounded toward many audiences rather than just one group of people.
Seeing how the PS4 is dominant in Japan and Europe, as well as ahead in the US, it has become the obvious choice if you plan on being exclusive to any one console. Lets also not forget Sony tends to offer more creative freedom than MS does, so a deal with Sony is also better for his developmental needs as well.
