What pissed me off was him, or any character, doing so withouth my command. To put it simply, for me Xenoblade tried to mix turn-based and action JRPGs and the result was awful. The thing I like the most about turn-based combat is having full control of my party, something that you can't do in Xenoblade. With action RPGs, I prefer the ones that let me choose how to attack whenever I want, instead of needing to wait for an attack to charge before using it again.

In Xenoblade I don't have full control of my party and I don't have full control of the action, it's a mixed bag that I came dislike. It's sad because I read more than once that the story is great, but I can't force myself to endure 70-90 hours of a game whose gameplay I hate.

i never knew someone would dislike this awsome gameplay so bad. Well everyone has our preferences i guess. I myself find it kinda of refreshing from most standard RPG where its always turn based. I like those alot too, but actually fight everything at once and go around the monster, and come from behind and doing BACKSLASH, or SIDESLASH!!! is satisfying to me atleast, and after 150 hours with the first game im still not tired of the battle system.

Yeah well, as I said, it didn't work for me. I might buy Xenoblade Chronicles X at some point anyways to show some sort of support, because I want more JRPGs on Nintendo's systems, but that's about it. I'm far more interested in something more traditional, like SMT x FE seems to be.
